The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nwachinemelu Nkwocha in the 3rd minute of play forced Enjoy Yourself's goalkeeper Radomil Olender to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nwachinemelu Nkwocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Radomil Olender having to interfere. After 8 minutes of play, Enjoy Yourself's Ime Sunday Egbanabo made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Yemi Odumegwu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jibrin Emenike sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kunaiyi Onuabunchi kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. After 27 minutes, Kunaiyi Onuabunchi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Enjoy Yourself and the Blue stars players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 27th match minute, Enjoy Yourself was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kunaiyi Onuabunchi to maneuver through the defense. Blue stars's Yemi Odumegwu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chinwemma Adebote in the 32nd minute of play. Ndidi Akinbiyi took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 33rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Yemi Odumegwu. Blue stars's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Nwachinemelu Nkwocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nwachinemelu Nkwocha took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Radomil Olender. Radomil Olender dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nwachinemelu Nkwocha was the one to do the kick off. Radomil Olender showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nwachinemelu Nkwocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 55th minute of the match Dammy Shaba shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Yemi Odumegwu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Chinwemma Adebote scored 2-2 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Yemi Odumegwu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 60 minutes into the match, Ime Sunday Egbanabo notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Blue stars's Yemi Odumegwu. Yemi Odumegwu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Dammy Shaba hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Nwachinemelu Nkwocha who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 65thth minute tested the skills of Radomil Olender when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 67 minutes into the match, Blue stars's goal looked a bit too open when Chinwemma Adebote came free, but Yemi Odumegwu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Blue stars's Yemi Odumegwu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chinwemma Adebote in the 70th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Nwachinemelu Nkwocha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Blue stars's supporters rose to their feet, but Nwachinemelu Nkwocha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Radomil Olender breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Blue stars getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Ikem Okon hit a great ball. In the 75th minute, Ndidi Akinbiyi sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Blue stars's Yemi Odumegwu didn't even have to move. Yemi Odumegwu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ime Sunday Egbanabo in the 77th minute of play. In the 78th match minute, Enjoy Yourself was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dammy Shaba to maneuver through the defense. After 82 played minutes Enjoy Yourself got a freekick which was hit by Kunaiyi Onuabunchi. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Nwachinemelu Nkwocha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Blue stars's supporters rose to their feet, but Nwachinemelu Nkwocha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The referee showed Ime Omehia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ime Omehia hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Enjoy Yourself were victorious despite being under pressure from Blue stars for much of the match.
