Clever Akpala breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 4 minutes into the match, Blue stars's goal looked a bit too open when Onuchukwu Olerum came free, but Yemi Odumegwu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 5th match minute, Diss was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kieffers Abaku to maneuver through the defense. 11 minutes into the match, Diss's goalkeeper Clever Akpala had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nwachukwu Okoduwa. 13 minutes into the game, Diss's Onuchukwu Olerum nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Yemi Odumegwu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When Ositadimma Odiaka came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Diss fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ositadimma Odiaka couldn't finish the play. Yemi Odumegwu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Onuchukwu Olerum, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 20th minute, Nwachinemelu Nkwocha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Blue stars defense, Ositadimma Odiaka kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Yemi Odumegwu. The Blue stars fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Yemi Odumegwu should have stopped the shot. Yemi Odumegwu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tajudeen Ajanaku went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Yemi Odumegwu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ositadimma Odiaka, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 28th match minute, Diss was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kieffers Abaku to maneuver through the defense. In the 34thth minute of the game Nwachinemelu Nkwocha who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Diss's Clever Akpala was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Eluemuno Ogbodo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 36th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Yemi Odumegwu. Blue stars's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Tajudeen Ajanaku sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Blue stars defense, Tajudeen Ajanaku kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Yemi Odumegwu. The Blue stars fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Yemi Odumegwu should have stopped the shot. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nwachinemelu Nkwocha to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Onuchukwu Olerum hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Diss getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Onuchukwu Olerum hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Diss's Ositadimma Odiaka slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Yemi Odumegwu. That made the score 0-5 after 60 minutes of play. The audience was convinced that Nwachinemelu Nkwocha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Clever Akpala was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. Nwachinemelu Nkwocha hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. If Nwachinemelu Nkwocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 79th minute, Onuchukwu Olerum ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Yemi Odumegwu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. In the 82nd match minute, Diss was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kieffers Abaku to maneuver through the defense. In the 83rd minute Nwachinemelu Nkwocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clever Akpala saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Blue stars's Nwachinemelu Nkwocha in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With a little luck, Blue stars's Yemi Odumegwu got control of the ball when Tajudeen Ajanaku tried to sneak it across the goal line.
