Okeke Achilike hit a great ball. Ijeagha adegbenjo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yemi Odumegwu having to interfere. If Otito Asuzu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Otito Asuzu in the 22nd minute of play forced Daniel united's goalkeeper Aderounmu Njoku to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aderounmu Njoku showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Okoli Obinna in the 25th minute of the match. Blue stars's Yemi Odumegwu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ijeagha adegbenjo in the 26th minute of play. In the 28th minute Nwachinemelu Nkwocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aderounmu Njoku saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nwachinemelu Nkwocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aderounmu Njoku having to interfere. 40 minutes into the game, Ikem Okon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Blue stars's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Daniel united the free kick. The supporters of Daniel united booed when Blue stars was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ikem Okon didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Daniel united's Ijeagha adegbenjo got a free kick in the 44th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nwachinemelu Nkwocha to make the kick off. With his leg Aderounmu Njoku managed to avoid a goal in the 51stth minute, when Blue stars's Nwachukwu Okoduwa fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ijeagha adegbenjo hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Nwachukwu Okoduwa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aderounmu Njoku having to make a save. A collision led to Daniel united getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Jacob Iwuh hit a great ball. Agbami Adaji, 59 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After a rather tough play, Blue stars's Agbami Adaji got a free kick in the 60th minute. After 76 minutes, Robai Julius Abulu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Daniel united and the Blue stars players grew even worse after the yellow card. Robai Julius Abulu kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. In the 81st minute, Okeke Achilike got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniel united's Aderounmu Njoku played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nwachukwu Okoduwa in the 87th minute of play. After 87 played minutes Daniel united got a freekick which was hit by Kunaiyi Oladapo. After a rather tough play, Daniel united's Akpan Hashimu got a free kick in the 95th minute. The Daniel united fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Blue stars were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
