Nwachinemelu Nkwocha had several of the Flitwick's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 8 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Olisanugo Udoka as he didn't even see the shot coming. After 16 minutes, Jibrin Emenike mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Blue stars and the Flitwick players grew even worse after the yellow card. Blue stars's Yemi Odumegwu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Duada Uzoezie in the 19th minute of play. Nwachinemelu Nkwocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olisanugo Udoka having to interfere. The supporters of Blue stars booed when Flitwick was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ebere Tsehe didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 32nd minute, Duada Uzoezie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 33 minutes into the match, Flitwick's goalkeeper Olisanugo Udoka had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nwachinemelu Nkwocha. Nwachinemelu Nkwocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Olisanugo Udoka tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Nwachinemelu Nkwocha came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Blue stars fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nwachinemelu Nkwocha couldn't finish the play. Yemi Odumegwu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Murtala Ikeh in the 39th minute of the match. Yemi Odumegwu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Murtala Ikeh in the 40th minute of play. Ikedi Ayi hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Yemi Odumegwu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ikedi Ayi in the 47th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nwachinemelu Nkwocha was the one to do the kick off. After 51 played minutes Flitwick got a freekick which was hit by Ikedi Ayi. Yemi Odumegwu was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Murtala Ikeh showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 54 minute of play. Yemi Odumegwu stood somewhat misplaced when Murtala Ikeh came free in front of goal and shot 1-2 to the left of him in the 58 minute. Okeke Achilike kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Jibrin Emenike was shown his second yellow card after 65 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 66th match minute, Blue stars was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jibrin Emenike to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th minute, Murtala Ikeh reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Yemi Odumegwu. The goal made the score 1-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Murtala Ikeh got free with Yemi Odumegwu in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Murtala Ikeh in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Yemi Odumegwu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Murtala Ikeh could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Yemi Odumegwu made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Flitwick's zone, Otito Asuzu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olisanugo Udoka came out of the goal and Otito Asuzu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 90 played minutes Blue stars got a freekick which was hit by Nwachinemelu Nkwocha. Yemi Odumegwu made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Ikedi Ayi sent off a good shot on target.
