If Leandro Aires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 6 minutes, Ijebusomma Daika mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Highland Eagles AFC and the Tortugas players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ijebusomma Daika kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Tortugas's goalkeeper Jerónimo Bettencourt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ikechukwu Garo. Jerónimo Bettencourt made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Uzochukwu Etuhu sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Highland Eagles AFC's zone, Leandro Aires stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Obika Olutola came out of the goal and Leandro Aires tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jerónimo Bettencourt made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Ikechukwu Garo sent off a good shot on target. In the 33rd match minute, Tortugas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicolás Tagliafico to maneuver through the defense. Obika Olutola didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leandro Aires went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. A collision led to Highland Eagles AFC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Nwokeocha Obiyo hit a great ball. In the 41st minute of the game Uzoma Amaechina made a throw-in which Uzochukwu Etuhu played forward. When Tortugas's Olufemi Ononogbo in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Highland Eagles AFC's goalie prevented a goal. Obika Olutola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leandro Aires in the 46th minute of play. The Highland Eagles AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Tortugas were winning 0-2.

After 52 minutes, Choice Al-Makura mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Highland Eagles AFC and the Tortugas players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Tortugas booed when Highland Eagles AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Choice Al-Makura didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Highland Eagles AFC's Obika Olutola got control of the ball when Leandro Aires tried to sneak it across the goal line. 54 minutes into the match, Leandro Aires notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Highland Eagles AFC's Obika Olutola. Obika Olutola was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nwokeocha Obiyo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Obika Olutola made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Leandro Aires sent off a good shot on target. Choice Al-Makura hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Jerónimo Bettencourt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nwokeocha Obiyo in the 70th minute of the match. A collision led to Highland Eagles AFC getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Shekwodiza Idahosa hit a great ball. Obika Olutola came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Tortugas's Olufemi Ononogbo. But to his dismay, Olufemi Ononogbo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. 78 minutes into the match, Leandro Aires dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Obika Olutola, 0-6. In the 84th minute, Tortugas's Leandro Aires dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-7. After a rather tough play, Highland Eagles AFC's Bitrus Abia got a free kick in the 86th minute. A collision led to Tortugas getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Angelo Rolado hit a great ball. Obika Olutola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leandro Aires in the 95th minute of play. 96 minutes into the match, Highland Eagles AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Olufemi Ononogbo came free, but Obika Olutola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tortugas's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
