Nwokike Douglas hit a great ball. 4 minutes into the match, Highland Eagles AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Kingsley Apam came free, but Obika Olutola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 7 minutes into the match, Cheddar's goal looked a bit too open when Uzochukwu Etuhu came free, but Somadina Okeke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Somadina Okeke didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Uzochukwu Etuhu went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 11th match minute, Highland Eagles AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nwokike Douglas to maneuver through the defense. Cheddar's Somadina Okeke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Uzochukwu Etuhu in the 13th minute of play. Adegun Chimezie Akandu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Obika Olutola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 16thth minute of the game Uzochukwu Etuhu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cheddar's Somadina Okeke was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Somadina Okeke stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Uzochukwu Etuhu's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. A collision led to Cheddar getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Adegun Chimezie Akandu hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bitrus Abia in the 19th minute of play forced Cheddar's goalkeeper Somadina Okeke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24thth minute of the game Ikechukwu Garo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cheddar's Somadina Okeke was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nwokike Douglas made in the 27th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Bitrus Abia immediately put the ball in play. After a rather tough play, Cheddar's Kingsley Apam got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 32nd minute of the game Shekwodiza Idahosa made a throw-in which Bitrus Abia played forward. Nwokeocha Obiyo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kingsley Apam came free with the goalkeeper in the 36th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Obika Olutola could save by the left post. Somadina Okeke showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nwokeocha Obiyo in the 39th minute of the match. In the 43rd minute, Cheddar's Kingsley Apam dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. The Cheddar players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Highland Eagles AFC were winning 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Uzochukwu Etuhu was the one to do the kick off. Somadina Okeke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Uzochukwu Etuhu in the 51st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Adegun Chimezie Akandu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cheddar's supporters rose to their feet, but Adegun Chimezie Akandu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Obika Olutola breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Cheddar booed when Highland Eagles AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Uzoma Amaechina didn't get a good kick on the ball. Highland Eagles AFC's Obika Olutola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adegun Chimezie Akandu in the 59th minute of play. Somadina Okeke made an important save on a dangerous shot by Uzochukwu Etuhu in the 64th minute. Cheddar's Adegun Chimezie Akandu managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Nwokike Douglas in the 79 minute of the game. Uzoma Amaechina got a throw-in 81 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Uzochukwu Etuhu. In the 82nd minute Ikechukwu Garo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Somadina Okeke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 83rd minute of the match Highland Eagles AFC got a corner. Cheddar's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nwokeocha Obiyo ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 83 minutes, Ijebusomma Daika mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Highland Eagles AFC and the Cheddar players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 93 played minutes Highland Eagles AFC got a freekick which was hit by Choice Al-Makura. After having played for 94 minutes, Adegun Chimezie Akandu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cheddar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adegun Chimezie Akandu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Highland Eagles AFC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
