The audience thought a goal was coming when Hamza El Bahri got free with Karim Merzouk in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ajeddig Talha in the 18th minute of play forced Med Adil Bennani's goalkeeper Daoud Boutarbouch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 21 minutes, Asmun Regragui managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fès's supporters crossed their fingers, but Asmun Regragui was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Uksintas Touzani's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Karim Merzouk read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Hamza El Bahri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karim Merzouk having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 33 minutes, Karim Merzouk successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 35th minute Med Adil Bennani were awarded a corner. Aziz Jadid went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Med Adil Bennani's corner Bukkus Ziyati fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Karim Merzouk quite easily take care of the ball. Hamza El Bahri struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Karim Merzouk didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Med Adil Bennani. 40 minutes into the match, Fès's goalkeeper Karim Merzouk had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hamza El Bahri. Daoud Boutarbouch didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Asmun Regragui went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Uksintas Touzani blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Karim Merzouk having to make a save. 68 minutes into the game, Aziz Jadid was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Med Adil Bennani's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fès the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Med Adil Bennani fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 68th minute. Penalty! Karim Merzouk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hamza El Bahri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Asmun Regragui struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Daoud Boutarbouch didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fès. Asmun Regragui recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 94th minute Ajeddig Talha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daoud Boutarbouch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 96th minute, Hamza El Bahri got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Karim Merzouk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Uksintas Touzani, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Fès walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
