Kristopher Clement hit a great ball. Lee Swallow was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Andrew Whitehead showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 16 minute of play. 19 minutes into the game, Stiff Langley was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Walmley's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dover the free kick. A collision led to Walmley getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Stiff Langley hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice moves Mark Nolan could shoot a difficult shot in the 23rd minute, which Lee Swallow however easily saved by the left post. Lee Swallow made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mark Nolan in the 27th minute. When Josh Robinson fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dover's protests and gave Josh Robinson a yellow card for diving instead. A hard shot by Kristopher Clement from long distance, 35 minutes into the match, got Lee Swallow 's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Mark Nolan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Lee Swallow made a huge save. Walmley's Joe Brontë played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Phil Cousins in the 41st minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Andrew Whitehead was the one to do the kick off. Lee Swallow took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mark Nolan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Phil Cousins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. During the 61st minute of the match Josh Robinson completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Josh Robinson a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 62nd minute, Josh Robinson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Phil Cousins kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Cody Reid Clanny who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 67thth minute tested the skills of Joe Brontë when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Kristopher Clement , 73 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Dion Cummins hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Walmley's Andrew Whitehead got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cody Reid Clanny received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Joe Brontë tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Walmley booed when Dover was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Philip Strongman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dover's Lee Swallow played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrew Whitehead in the 91st minute of play. In the 97th minute, Leroy Barfield hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dover's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
