Wantage AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Oxford United the free kick. Jermaine Crouch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brendon Wild, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Miles Jackson was out of position in the 8 minute of play, and Dylon Chilton capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dylon Chilton really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Dylon Chilton was extremely unlucky when he, in the 15th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Sol Jobling 's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 17thth minute, Miles Jackson skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 20th minute, Brendon Wild hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brendon Wild fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jermaine Crouch having to interfere. When Oxford United's Dylon Chilton in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Wantage AFC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 33rd minute, Sol Jobling got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Sol Jobling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Miles Jackson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dylon Chilton in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 45th minute, Dylon Chilton fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. An unexpected shot in the 47th minute by Sol Jobling got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.

Jermaine Crouch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jake Froggatt in the 51st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Sol Jobling managed to get in a good position for a shot. Oxford United's supporters rose to their feet, but Sol Jobling was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Miles Jackson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Wantage AFC defense, Dylon Chilton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Miles Jackson. The Wantage AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Miles Jackson should have stopped the shot. Miles Jackson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dylon Chilton 's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. In the 61st minute Jake Froggatt suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. After 62 played minutes Oxford United got a freekick which was hit by Dave Hicks . After a defensive mix-up in Oxford United's zone, Lewis Ambrose stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jermaine Crouch came out of the goal and Lewis Ambrose tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match clock showed 65 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Barry Mahon sped through Oxford United's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jermaine Crouch . Barry Mahon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Wantage AFC's zone, Dylon Chilton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miles Jackson came out of the goal and Dylon Chilton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Miles Jackson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dylon Chilton in the 74th minute of the match. Sol Jobling fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miles Jackson having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Wantage AFC's Brendon Wild got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Willie Basham took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 84th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Miles Jackson. Wantage AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Oxford United's Willie Basham got a free kick in the 85th minute. After having played for 87 minutes, Lewis Ambrose managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wantage AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lewis Ambrose was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kris Little kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Miles Jackson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sol Jobling in the 96th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Wantage AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Oxford United.
