After a rather tough play, Old Leake's Henry Davey got a free kick in the 4th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Old Leake's zone, Joshua Washington stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gary Burnell came out of the goal and Joshua Washington tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alan Garlick fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gary Burnell having to interfere. 8 minutes into the game, Ivan Stewart was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Old Leake's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Derry Hill the free kick. After 8 played minutes Old Leake got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Stewart . After a rather tough play, Old Leake's Gerry Dunn got a free kick in the 11th minute. A hard shot 19 in the game by Alan Garlick from a close distance when the talented Gary Burnell managed to make a qualified save. Old Leake's players were relieved. If Alan Garlick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when John Eagles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alan Garlick took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gary Burnell. Gary Burnell dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Jonny Armitage received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Frankie Whittaker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonny Armitage could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Frankie Whittaker made a huge save. Frankie Whittaker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonny Armitage in the 61st minute of play. Jonny Armitage sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. John Eagles blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Frankie Whittaker having to make a save. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Derry Hill's goalkeeper Frankie Whittaker , but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jonny Armitage received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Frankie Whittaker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
