Rodney Cunningham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barrie Price having to interfere. With a little luck, Marlow FC's Matthew Lister got control of the ball when Garth Blunt tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Garth Blunt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Matthew Lister made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Garth Blunt sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodney Cunningham in the 23rd minute of play forced Northwood's goalkeeper Barrie Price to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Eddy Major had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Steve Holden fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Northwood's protests and gave Steve Holden a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Marlow FC booed when Northwood was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steve Holden didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Steve Holden to strike the kick off in the second half. Barrie Price made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rodney Cunningham in the 67th minute. Rodney Cunningham could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Barrie Price made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Garth Blunt in the 79th minute of play forced Marlow FC's goalkeeper Matthew Lister to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 81 minutes into the match, Marlow FC's goal looked a bit too open when Garth Blunt came free, but Matthew Lister reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
