Carl Bradfield took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tod Whitmore . Tod Whitmore dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Billy Moore managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bromborough AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Billy Moore was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Russ Gettins breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 7 minutes into the match, Accrington's goalkeeper Russ Gettins had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Liam Holdsworth . A hard shot by Elisha Dowie from long distance, 12 minutes into the match, got Russ Gettins 's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Accrington's Bronagh Robertson suffered a sore thigh after 17 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Bronagh Morrison's late challenge caught a Accrington's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bronagh Morrison helped the player get up and apologised. In the 18th match minute, Bromborough AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bronagh Morrison to maneuver through the defense. In the 21st match minute, Accrington was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carl Bradfield to maneuver through the defense. In the 24th minute, Bromborough AFC's Billy Moore ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Russ Gettins . Russ Gettins yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Darren Warrender might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tod Whitmore . Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Darren Warrender ran back to his position shaking his head. Darren Warrender fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tod Whitmore having to interfere. Darren Warrender recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Russ Gettins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Billy Moore in the 37th minute of play. Darren Warrender sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Allan Lydiate could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Russ Gettins made a huge save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Darren Warrender to make the kick off. Darren Warrender received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Tod Whitmore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 57 minutes, Tod Whitmore successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 60 played minutes Accrington got a freekick which was hit by Colin Holland . The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nathan Deighton during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Nathan Deighton hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. When Bromborough AFC's Billy Moore in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Accrington's goalie prevented a goal. With an all-out effort, Accrington's Tod Whitmore threw himself towards the right post 83 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Darren Warrender , which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Russ Gettins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Allan Lydiate in the 87th minute of play. Darren Warrender received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Tod Whitmore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bromborough AFC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Accrington for a fine match.
