Spectators: 6840 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1840, VIP seats: 0) Patrick Kitchen made the kick off and thus started the match. After 4 minutes, Patrick Kitchen made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Witney United's Norman Mumford tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 7th minute Leon Robinson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norman Mumford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Liskeard's zone, Huey Dransfield stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Des Pollock came out of the goal and Huey Dransfield tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Trevor Berryman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Des Pollock made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trevor Berryman in the 13th minute of play. Trevor Berryman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Des Pollock having to interfere. A collision led to Witney United getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Lucas Hurst hit a great ball. Leon Robinson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Norman Mumford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 32 minutes, Stewart Sharples mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Liskeard and the Witney United players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 32nd match minute, Liskeard was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stewart Sharples to maneuver through the defense. Witney United's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Neil Warden in the 35th minute. Jay Robins thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Des Pollock , a very annoying self made goal in the 35th minute which led to 2-1. Owen Chapman charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Owen Chapman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 39th minute of the game. One of Witney United:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Liskeard:s goal. In the 42nd match minute, Witney United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Neil Warden to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Trevor Berryman to strike the kick off in the second half. If Alistair Tyrell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Trevor Berryman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 62 minutes into the match, Liskeard's goal looked a bit too open when Trevor Berryman came free, but Des Pollock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Norman Mumford made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrick Kitchen in the 66th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Alistair Tyrell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Witney United's supporters rose to their feet, but Alistair Tyrell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Des Pollock breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Norman Mumford showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrick Kitchen , who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. When Lucas Hurst fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Witney United's protests and gave Lucas Hurst a yellow card for diving instead. Witney United's Norman Mumford proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Witney United from getting a goal against them. Witney United's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
