Lisburn Stadium
Spectators: 8153 (Terracing: 6116,
Seating: 1875, VIP seats: 162) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Billy Dunlop took the kick off in the first half of the match. The supporters of Lisburn Football Club booed when Waterloo and South Bank was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miles Dawson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Garth Rush hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Jimmy Seaward took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Billy Dunlop, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jimmy Seaward showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Keiran Airton in the 14th minute of the match. Jimmy Seaward showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Freddie Vaughn, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 20th minute, Dave Best reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jimmy Seaward. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 22nd minute, Maksim Ostakhov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute, Billy Dunlop ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jimmy Seaward was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. In the 30th minute Damien Higgins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wesley Hyde saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 33 minutes, Frankie Venables mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lisburn Football Club and the Waterloo and South Bank players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Lisburn Football Club getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Frankie Venables hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Tommy Hallam kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jimmy Seaward. That made the score 3-0 in the 35 minute of play. After some careless play in the Waterloo and South Bank defense, Keiran Airton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jimmy Seaward. The Waterloo and South Bank fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jimmy Seaward should have stopped the shot. When the match had gone on for 45 minutes, Keiran Airton took a quick shot and it went in 5-0 without a chance for Jimmy Seaward to make any attempt to save it. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
When Maksim Ostakhov was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 50 minutes had been played. Wesley Hyde stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Andrew Blanchflower's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Keiran Airton during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Lisburn Football Club getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Keiran Airton hit a great ball. After 59 minutes, Eddy Beadel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Waterloo and South Bank and the Lisburn Football Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eddy Beadel hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Freddie Vaughn was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 60th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 62nd match minute, Lisburn Football Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tommy Hallam to maneuver through the defense. In the 69th minute, Billy Dunlop made a precise shot to the right of Jimmy Seaward. Waterloo and South Bank's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. A collision led to Lisburn Football Club getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Keiran Airton hit a great ball. Waterloo and South Bank's Gerry Hutchinson shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 74th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Wesley Hyde but with some difficulty. After 76 minutes of play, Lisburn Football Club's Frankie Venables made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jimmy Seaward was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 85th minute, one of Waterloo and South Bank:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Waterloo and South Bank. Freddie Vaughn shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Billy Dunlop sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Waterloo and South Bank's Jimmy Seaward played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Keiran Airton in the 91st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Billy Dunlop in the 92nd minute of play forced Waterloo and South Bank's goalkeeper Jimmy Seaward to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Damien Higgins fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Waterloo and South Bank's protests and gave Damien Higgins a yellow card for diving instead. Jimmy Seaward made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tommy Hallam in the 94th minute of play. 98 minutes into the game, Ivan Dougan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lisburn Football Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Waterloo and South Bank the free kick. A collision led to Lisburn Football Club getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Ivan Dougan hit a great ball. Lisburn Football Club's Wesley Hyde played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damien Higgins in the 100th minute of play.
