With a little luck, Notting Hill Gate City's Frank Cooke got control of the ball when Eric Mann tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mark Groves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Crispin Corby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Martin Dowie had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Frank Cooke. Notting Hill Gate City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Martin Dowie was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 20th minute Darren Middlewood shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Crispin Corby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 22nd minute of the match Notting Hill Gate City got a corner. The Northern Ireland Babe's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Lenny Brighton ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in James Taylor heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Darren Middlewood sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 26th minute, Kristopher MacDonnell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paul Chivers received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Frank Cooke came out and tried to block the shot, but Paul Chivers slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 29th minute. After 31 played minutes The Northern Ireland Babe got a freekick which was hit by Kristopher MacDonnell. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mark Groves in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Crispin Corby prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, The Northern Ireland Babe's Matthew Smythe got a free kick in the 33rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Darren Middlewood managed to get in a good position for a shot. Notting Hill Gate City's supporters rose to their feet, but Darren Middlewood was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Crispin Corby breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to The Northern Ireland Babe getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Kristopher MacDonnell hit a great ball. After 37 minutes, Kristopher MacDonnell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the The Northern Ireland Babe and the Notting Hill Gate City players grew even worse after the yellow card. Kristopher MacDonnell kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Darren Middlewood recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Eric Mann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Darren Middlewood to strike the kick off in the second half. Darren Middlewood received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Crispin Corby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Notting Hill Gate City's goalkeeper Frank Cooke, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 63rd minute, Mark Groves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Northern Ireland Babe's defense didn't have a chance, in the 69th minute, when Darren Middlewood scored to the left of an out of position Crispin Corby, making the score, 2-2. In the 73rd minute, Paul Chivers made a precise shot to the right of Frank Cooke. Notting Hill Gate City's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. Darren Middlewood received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Crispin Corby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The The Northern Ireland Babe support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
