With a left leg Jon Bull saved Croston from getting behind. The supporters of Oadby booed when Croston was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Calum Rice didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 7th minute, Johnnie England made a precise shot to the right of Jon Bull. Croston's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Joshua Mansfield scored 0-2 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jon Bull, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Seth Crawshaw's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jon Bull was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Oadby's Joshua Mansfield got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jon Bull was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 40th minute, Jerome Layfield left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Oadby fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerome Layfield in the 44th minute of play forced Croston's goalkeeper Jon Bull to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Seth Crawshaw took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jon Bull. Jon Bull dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. After the first half Oadby were leading 0-6. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Seth Crawshaw made the kick off in the second half. Seth Crawshaw made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 53rdth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Jon Bull would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Seth Crawshaw got free with Jon Bull in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Oadby's Johnnie England got a free kick in the 60th minute. If Junior Ennis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66thth minute of the game Seth Crawshaw who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Croston's Jon Bull was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Seth Crawshaws short, quick shot in the 67thth minute got Jon Bull to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 68 minutes into the game, Seth Crawshaw lined in a short shot 0-7 behind a frustrated Jon Bull. In the 72nd match minute, Croston was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Calum Rice to maneuver through the defense. Jon Bull showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerome Layfield in the 80th minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded Oadby left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Croston.
