Romeo Donaghy started the match with the kick off. Reggie Alsop hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. 11 minutes into the match, Annscroft City's goal looked a bit too open when Romeo Donaghy came free, but Ben Boyd reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ben Boyd took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marc Poynton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Marc Poynton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Annscroft City's zone, Romeo Donaghy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ben Boyd came out of the goal and Romeo Donaghy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 22nd minute, Romeo Donaghy ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ben Boyd was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. A collision led to Tatsfield FC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Shane Forrester hit a great ball. Cliff Robson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Carl Robertson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 28 minutes into the game, Reggie Alsop was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tatsfield FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Annscroft City the free kick. After 28 played minutes Tatsfield FC got a freekick which was hit by Reggie Alsop. Annscroft City's Steve Barnes got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Tatsfield FC's Marc Poynton in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Annscroft City's goalie prevented a goal. Ben Boyd showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romeo Donaghy in the 35th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Annscroft City's Bryan Locke got a free kick in the 38th minute. Ben Boyd showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marc Poynton, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Tatsfield FC's Marc Poynton got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The wind increased when Cliff Robson made the kick off in the second half. Marc Poynton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ben Boyd having to interfere. Tatsfield FC's Romeo Donaghy got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 54th minute, Marc Poynton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The attack was good, but when Romeo Donaghy in the 58th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. The audience was convinced that Romeo Donaghy's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ben Boyd was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. Romeo Donaghy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Ben Boyd tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Steve Barnes hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Marc Poynton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tatsfield FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Marc Poynton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ben Boyd breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bryan Locke's late challenge caught a Tatsfield FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bryan Locke helped the player get up and apologised. In the 86th match minute, Annscroft City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bryan Locke to maneuver through the defense. When the match was over Tatsfield FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Annscroft City throughout the match.
