The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 2nd minute of the game. One of Mangotsfield AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Oadby:s goal. The referee gave Oadby a penalty, 4 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Seth Crawshaw, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Mangotsfield AFC's Kasey Rush. 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jerome Layfield in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kasey Rush saved Mangotsfield AFC from getting behind. The Oadby fans' excitement grew in the 14th match minute when Oadby's Seth Crawshaw looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 17th minute, Joshua Mansfield left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Oadby fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. If Jerome Layfield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 28 played minutes Mangotsfield AFC got a freekick which was hit by Jacob Newby. Seth Crawshaw scored 0-5 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kasey Rush, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kasey Rush took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johnnie England, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Mangotsfield AFC's Jason McWilliams got a free kick in the 38th minute. Bill Wise hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Mangotsfield AFC's Kasey Rush played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerome Layfield in the 42nd minute of play. After 44th play minutes Seth Crawshaw shot 0-6, a short shot which went by Kasey Rush and just under the crossbar into goal. After 47 minutes, Johnnie England mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Oadby and the Mangotsfield AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Oadby's Johnnie England got a free kick in the 47th minute. Disappointed in the 0-6 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After having played for 61 minutes, Jerome Layfield managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oadby's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jerome Layfield was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Jerome Layfield managed to get in a good position for a shot. Oadby's supporters rose to their feet, but Jerome Layfield was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kasey Rush breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kasey Rush made an important save on a dangerous shot by Seth Crawshaw in the 75th minute. 0-9 became the score in the 76th minute when Joshua Mansfield elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Oadby's Martyn Jennings was substituted for Joshua Mansfield. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Martyn Jennings managed to get in a good position for a shot. Oadby's supporters rose to their feet, but Martyn Jennings was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kasey Rush breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Seth Crawshaw let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 83rd minute shot 0-10 at rihgt post. Kasey Rush showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerome Layfield in the 87th minute of the match. Oadby's Seth Crawshaw got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Seth Crawshaw's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kasey Rush was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. The Mangotsfield AFC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Oadby were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
