Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Croston's Charles Barber started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Mark Groves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Jon Bull tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 5 minutes into the match, Croston's goalkeeper Jon Bull had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mark Groves. Frank Cooke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Junior Ennis, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. 13 minutes into the match, Calum Rice notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Notting Hill Gate City's Frank Cooke. Frank Cooke was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Junior Ennis in the 17th minute of play forced Notting Hill Gate City's goalkeeper Frank Cooke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Frank Cooke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Junior Ennis, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Junior Ennis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Charles Barber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After recieving a nice pass, Notting Hill Gate City's Lenny Brighton tried to score from far away in the 29th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Basil Abbotts kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. In the 39th minute Darren Middlewood shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jon Bull saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Charles Barber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eric Blueman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Frank Cooke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Notting Hill Gate City players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Croston were winning 0-2.
After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Mark Groves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Notting Hill Gate City's supporters rose to their feet, but Mark Groves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jon Bull breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jon Bull made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darren Middlewood in the 58th minute of play. In the 58th match minute, Croston was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eric Blueman to maneuver through the defense. In the 60th minute, Darren Middlewood left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Notting Hill Gate City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Frank Cooke showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Charles Barber in the 64th minute of the match. In the 69th minute, Van Gallacher hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Charles Barber struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Frank Cooke didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Croston. After 78 played minutes Notting Hill Gate City got a freekick which was hit by Gordon Day. After 85 played minutes, Notting Hill Gate City's Lenny Brighton shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jon Bull came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Notting Hill Gate City reached it. When Croston's Charles Barber in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Notting Hill Gate City's goalie prevented a goal. Darren Middlewood fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jon Bull having to interfere. In the 95th minute Darren Middlewood shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jon Bull saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mark Groves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Jon Bull tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
