Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Louie Davis got the match started through his kick off. In the 3rd minute, Louie Davis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Trevor Pearson was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 10th minute, Liverpool's George Routledge dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Louie Davis in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Trevor Pearson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 17th minute, Colin Best got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Charlie Corby showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Neal Butt, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Louie Davis might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Trevor Pearson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Louie Davis ran back to his position shaking his head. Charlie Corby made an important save on a dangerous shot by Crispin Potterton in the 35th minute. Charlie Corby made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from George Routledge in the 37th minute of play. Kiera Harding hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Vincent Banks hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and George Routledge made a kick off. Crispin Potterton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Charlie Corby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Charlie Corby showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Crispin Potterton in the 56th minute of the match. Trevor Pearson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Louie Davis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alfredo Mills scored 3-1 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Charlie Corby, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 64 minutes into the game, George Routledge was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Liverpool's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cambridge Athletic the free kick. In the 64th minute, George Routledge hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Louie Davis came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Cambridge Athletic fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Louie Davis couldn't finish the play. If Tommy Evans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Neal Butt hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. In the 70th minute, Andre Pryor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Charlie Corby took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Crispin Potterton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 76 played minutes Liverpool got a freekick which was hit by Neal Butt. Charlie Corby showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from George Routledge, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. 80 minutes into the game, Crispin Potterton cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Charlie Corby was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 85th play minutes Crispin Potterton shot 5-1, a short shot which went by Charlie Corby and just under the crossbar into goal. The supporters of Liverpool booed when Cambridge Athletic was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vincent Banks didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julian Ridgeway recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Neal Butt in the 92nd minute of play forced Cambridge Athletic's goalkeeper Charlie Corby to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Cambridge Athletic's Frank Cole got a free kick in the 92nd minute. When Louie Davis, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 98 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Trevor Pearson was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Liverpool's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
