Spectators: 8198 (Terracing: 6150, Seating: 1886, VIP seats: 162) Steven Paterson made the kick off and thus started the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Congleton's Samuel Morley slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Baron McCann. That made the score 1-0 after 6 minutes of play. 10 minutes into the match, Congleton's Samuel Morley sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Baron McCann narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Brian Dawson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Baron McCann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sammy Mortimer took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 17th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Baron McCann. Oulton Broad's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Congleton's zone, Gerry Blacknell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rowan Mayfield came out of the goal and Gerry Blacknell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rowan Mayfield showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerry Blacknell, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Baron McCann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuel Morley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the match, Samuel Morley notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Oulton Broad's Baron McCann. Baron McCann was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Samuel Morley recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Brian Dawson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Baron McCann made a huge save. Brian Dawson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baron McCann having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Gerry Blacknell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Samuel Morley to make the kick off. Baron McCann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuel Morley in the 52nd minute of play. In the 52nd minute, Martin Patterson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Oulton Broad's zone, Samuel Morley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baron McCann came out of the goal and Samuel Morley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 57th minute, Samuel Morley got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 67 played minutes Oulton Broad got a freekick which was hit by Andrew Tompkins. Brian Dawson struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Baron McCann didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Congleton. 78 minutes into the match, Samuel Morley notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Oulton Broad's Baron McCann. Baron McCann was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 81st minute, Brian Dawson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Steven Paterson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 86th match minute, Congleton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leo Henman to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gerry Blacknell got free with Rowan Mayfield in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Samuel Morley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Baron McCann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Congleton had won after a very even match.
