Wayne Carlick received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Stew Jenkinson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Martyn Wedlock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 13 played minutes Tipton United got a freekick which was hit by Frank Couzens. Paddy Gilchrist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martyn Wedlock in the 18th minute of the match. In the 26th minute Wayne Carlick shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stew Jenkinson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes in the game, Wayne Carlick fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Stew Jenkinson having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Scott Lock was the one to do the kick off. In the 54thth minute of the game Stefan Blake who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Whitton AFC's Stew Jenkinson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Stefan Blake's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Stew Jenkinson was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. When Tipton United's Stefan Blake in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Whitton AFC's Stew Jenkinson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Couzens in the 78th minute of play. Stew Jenkinson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wayne Carlick, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stew Jenkinson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stefan Blake's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. After having played for 94 minutes, Wayne Carlick managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tipton United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wayne Carlick was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 97 minutes into the match, Tipton United's goal looked a bit too open when Scott Lock came free, but Paddy Gilchrist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 98 minutes into the game, Frank Couzens was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tipton United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Whitton AFC the free kick. In the 100th minute, Rory Moon sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Tipton United's Paddy Gilchrist didn't even have to move. The Whitton AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Whitton AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
