After a defensive mix-up in Feltham AFC's zone, James Little stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Verne Button came out of the goal and James Little tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jacob Meehan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 15thth minute tested the skills of Verne Button when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Feltham AFC's zone, James Little stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Verne Button came out of the goal and James Little tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Feltham AFC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Trey Edison hit a great ball. Feltham AFC's Verne Button played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by James Little in the 19th minute of play. Guy Murphy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 26th minute, Ilkeston's James Little ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Verne Button. Verne Button yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. After 30 played minutes Ilkeston got a freekick which was hit by Henry Corbridge. Verne Button made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jacob Meehan in the 37th minute. If James Little had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Feltham AFC's Paul Osborn got a free kick in the 40th minute. James Little sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jacob Meehan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Verne Button tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paul Ronson during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Paul Ronson kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Feltham AFC:s Verne Button showed great skill when he stopped Antony Collingwood:s penalty. It was a brilliant solo performance by Ilkeston's Antony Collingwood when he shot the ball into the net to 2-0 in the 51st minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell James Little to make the kick off. In the 56th minute, Ronny Brontë got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 58th minute Guy Murphy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aaron Ripley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 83 played minutes Ilkeston got a freekick which was hit by Jane Trimble. In the 86th minute, Jacob Meehan made a precise shot to the right of Verne Button. Feltham AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Antony Collingwood charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 95thth minute of the game Jacob Meehan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Feltham AFC's Verne Button was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Feltham AFC defense, James Little kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Verne Button. The Feltham AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Verne Button should have stopped the shot. If James Little had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 100th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the referee ended the match the Ilkeston players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
