Spectators: 8068 (Terracing: 6000, Seating: 1900, VIP seats: 168) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Dale Neville started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Brigg's goalkeeper Jack Smith had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Steven Wilkes. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dale Neville in the 7th minute of play forced Hextable City's goalkeeper Pedro Button to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Brad Gallagher came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Hextable City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brad Gallagher couldn't finish the play. If Steven Wilkes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brigg's Jack Smith proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Brigg from getting a goal against them. In the 18th minute, Liam Hulbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Steven Wilkes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Jack Smith made a huge save. Liam Hulbert kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Brad Gallagher kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jack Smith. That made the score 1-0 in the 23 minute of play. Dale Neville fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Button having to interfere. Hextable City's Brad Gallagher got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Roy Chilton might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedro Button. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roy Chilton ran back to his position shaking his head. Brad Gallagher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

After a rather tough play, Hextable City's Roger Lockwood got a free kick in the 55th minute. Brigg's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Alfie Broadhurst in the 59th minute. The corner ended in Alfie Broadhurst almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Hextable City's Pedro Button did a great save. Roy Chilton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Button having to interfere. Frank Ginn kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Hextable City's Roger Lockwood got a free kick in the 66th minute. Jack Smith took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brad Gallagher, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Roy Chilton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Pedro Button tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hextable City's Pedro Button played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dale Neville in the 72nd minute of play. In the 75th minute, Karl Lewis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dale Neville recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Roy Chilton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dale Neville fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Button having to interfere. Steven Wilkes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Jack Smith tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Steven Wilkes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jack Smith having to interfere. After 92 played minutes Brigg got a freekick which was hit by Liam Hulbert. Steven Wilkes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hextable City were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Brigg for a fine match.
