Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Gerry Roberts kicked off to start the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 5th minute of the game. One of Mhurphys Fury F.C.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Harold Hill AFC:s goal. The goalkeeper, Reg Hinchcliffe, was totally fooled by Harold Hill AFC's Jez Lancaster, who 6 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. A collision led to Harold Hill AFC getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Phillip Townson hit a great ball. With splendid footwork Gerry Roberts arrived in front of goal to shoot 2-0 by the left pole in the game's 11th minute. Harold Hill AFC's Neal Coates played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Billie Gray in the 15th minute of play. If Gerry Roberts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 26 minutes, Forrest Henwood mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Harold Hill AFC and the Mhurphys Fury F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Harold Hill AFC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Forrest Henwood hit a great ball. Roy Croft blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Reg Hinchcliffe having to make a save. In the 34th minute Gerry Roberts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reg Hinchcliffe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gerry Roberts in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Reg Hinchcliffe saved Mhurphys Fury F.C. from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roy Croft got free with Reg Hinchcliffe in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Billie Gray made a kick off. In the 53rd minute Lee Morgan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reg Hinchcliffe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mhurphys Fury F.C.'s Reg Hinchcliffe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerry Roberts in the 54th minute of play. Antony Hibbert kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Reg Hinchcliffe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerry Roberts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 60 minutes into the match, Gerry Roberts notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Mhurphys Fury F.C.'s Reg Hinchcliffe. Reg Hinchcliffe was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Mhurphys Fury F.C. getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Rupert Titmuss hit a great ball. Roy Croft sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Neil Sadler struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Neal Coates didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mhurphys Fury F.C.. Roy Croft took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Reg Hinchcliffe. Reg Hinchcliffe dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. Neal Coates made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Billie Gray in the 87th minute of play. Roy Croft fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reg Hinchcliffe having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the Harold Hill AFC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
