Callum Butt made a fantastic save in the 2nd minute, when Brian Rose sent off a good shot on target. In the 7th minute, Phil Ploughman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Brian Rose was extremely unlucky when he, in the 8th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 10th minute, Rio Abbotts got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 12 minutes into the match, Gainsborough FC's goal looked a bit too open when John Blake came free, but Freddie Cousens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Gainsborough FC's Rio Abbotts in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Shelfield United's goalie prevented a goal. 16 minutes into the match, Gainsborough FC's Brian Rose sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Callum Butt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Rio Abbotts came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Gainsborough FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rio Abbotts couldn't finish the play. Callum Butt was a little too slow when Brian Rose got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 19th minute. The score was now 1-0. Gainsborough FC's Brian Rose got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 29 minutes into the game, Rio Abbotts recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Callum Butt . Rio Abbotts showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Willie Dawson hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Brian Rose recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 44 minutes into the game, Rio Abbotts cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Callum Butt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.
After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Brian Rose managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gainsborough FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Brian Rose was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Callum Butt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Brian Rose took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Callum Butt . Callum Butt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Callum Butt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rio Abbotts in the 55th minute of play. Callum Butt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Brian Rose's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. Gainsborough FC's Brian Rose got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Callum Butt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maurice Bryant in the 61st minute of play. Shelfield United's Callum Butt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brian Rose in the 64th minute of play. The Gainsborough FC fans' excitement grew in the 65th match minute when Gainsborough FC's Rio Abbotts looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Brian Rose fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Callum Butt having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, Rio Abbotts notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Shelfield United's Callum Butt . Callum Butt was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gainsborough FC's Brian Rose got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rio Abbotts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Callum Butt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Brian Rose had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, Tristan Routledge put it in 7-0 from a short distance just to the right of Callum Butt . In the 89th minute, Tristan Routledge hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Brian Rose in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Callum Butt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 93 minutes into the game, Rio Abbotts cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-0. Callum Butt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gainsborough FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
