In the 26th minute Ian Moyle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ray Edison saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 30 minutes, Stevie Gordon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the East Tilbury and the Ambleside players grew even worse after the yellow card. Stevie Gordon kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Ray Edison made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rory Worrall in the 32nd minute of play. Ray Edison showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eric Clifford, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. After 44 minutes of play, Ambleside's Ian Moyle made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ray Edison was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ian Moyle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Barry Fletcher to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute Barry Fletcher shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leigh Hoopman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ray Edison showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ian Moyle, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Ian Moyle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ray Edison having to interfere. Ray Edison took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eric Clifford, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eric Clifford struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Ray Edison didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ambleside. 84 minutes into the match, Ambleside's goal looked a bit too open when Barry Fletcher came free, but Leigh Hoopman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rory Worrall kicked well hit freekick during the 98th minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded Ambleside left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than East Tilbury.
