Spectators: 9296 (Terracing: 6986, Seating: 2125, VIP seats: 185) Billy Feeney made the kick off and thus started the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reuben Auckland in the 5th minute of play forced Yapton's goalkeeper Marcus King to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Yapton's Miles Mabbutt got a free kick in the 5th minute. Marcus King didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Billy Feeney went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Marcus King took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reuben Auckland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Yapton's Tony Stone slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Derek Carragher. That made the score 1-1 after 26 minutes of play. In the 34th minute Billy Feeney shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcus King saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th match minute, Yapton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miles Mabbutt to maneuver through the defense. Derek Carragher made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Geoff McParland sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Billy Feeney in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcus King prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Derek Wood's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcus King read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. 45 minutes into the game, Billy Feeney cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Marcus King was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tony Stone made a kick off. When Miles Mabbutt was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 61 minutes had been played. A collision led to Yapton getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Miles Mabbutt hit a great ball. 63 minutes into the match, Yapton's goalkeeper Marcus King had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Derek Wood. The supporters of Belfast Rebels FC booed when Yapton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stuart Farrell didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 70th minute, Billy Feeney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Reuben Auckland blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcus King having to make a save. Justin Leatherdale hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. In the 85th minute of the match, Derek Wood got a very nice opportunity to score, but Marcus King was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Mark Blake made in the 92nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Billy Feeney immediately put the ball in play. The Yapton fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Belfast Rebels FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
