Derek Wood kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 5thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Rotherham's keeper Derek Rashleigh was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. George Paisley charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed George Paisley the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Derek Rashleigh acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 7th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Derek Wood. 11 minutes into the match, Rotherham's goalkeeper Derek Rashleigh had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Derek Wood. In the 13th minute, Belfast Rebels FC's Derek Wood ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Derek Rashleigh. Derek Rashleigh yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Derek Rashleigh made an important save on a dangerous shot by Derek Wood in the 16th minute. In the 18th minute, Derek Wood ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Derek Rashleigh was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Derek Carragher stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Waddington's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Derek Rashleigh was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Mark Blake showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 25 minute of play. Derek Wood who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 28thth minute tested the skills of Derek Rashleigh when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Mark Blake had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an all-out effort, Belfast Rebels FC's Derek Rashleigh threw himself towards the right post 35 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Billy Feeney, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A collision led to Rotherham getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Greg Land hit a great ball. When Derek Wood, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 37 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Derek Rashleigh was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Mark Blake took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Derek Rashleigh. Derek Rashleigh dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. 43 minutes into the game, Wayne Wells recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Derek Rashleigh. Wayne Wells showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 6-0.

The wind increased when Billy Feeney made the kick off in the second half. In the 52ndth minute of the game Derek Wood who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rotherham's Derek Rashleigh was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 52nd match minute, Rotherham was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Greg Land to maneuver through the defense. After 56 minutes, Derek Wood made it 7-0 with a short kick to the right side. Rotherham's Derek Rashleigh tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Belfast Rebels FC's Billy Feeney got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rotherham's Derek Rashleigh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reuben Auckland in the 60th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Derek Wood in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Derek Rashleigh prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Rotherham getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. John Scott hit a great ball. 66 minutes into the match, Rotherham's goal looked a bit too open when Billy Feeney came free, but Derek Rashleigh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Derek Wood kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. David Ripley's late challenge caught a Belfast Rebels FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Rotherham's goalkeeper Derek Rashleigh, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Derek Rashleigh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Billy Feeney in the 75th minute of the match. Rotherham's Derek Rashleigh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Billy Feeney in the 79th minute of play. Derek Rashleigh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reuben Auckland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 84th minute, Derek Wood ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Derek Rashleigh was frozen by the shot and now it was 9-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Derek Wood in the 88th minute of play forced Rotherham's goalkeeper Derek Rashleigh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 89 minutes into the match, Rotherham's goal looked a bit too open when Billy Feeney came free, but Derek Rashleigh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Derek Rashleigh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Billy Feeney, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. After a rather tough play, Rotherham's Greg Land got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Derek Rashleigh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Billy Feeney in the 95th minute of the match. In the 96th minute, Mark Blake left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Belfast Rebels FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 10-0. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Belfast Rebels FC had played much better football throughout.
