Julian Waddington could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Kenneth E. White made a huge save. 5 minutes into the game, Joey Gillespie was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brimhaven FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rotherham the free kick. After a rather tough play, Brimhaven FC's Joey Gillespie got a free kick in the 5th minute. Calvin Patten charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Calvin Patten the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Kenneth E. White went to the wrong direction when Phillip Clayton was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After having played for 13 minutes, Julian Waddington managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rotherham's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julian Waddington was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Rotherham's David Ripley got a free kick in the 18th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damien Fish in the 20th minute of play forced Rotherham's goalkeeper Derek Rashleigh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st minute, Crispin Marlow hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Derek Rashleigh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daryl Rashleigh in the 23rd minute of the match. 26 minutes into the match, Brimhaven FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ivor Norton came free, but Kenneth E. White reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rotherham's goalkeeper Derek Rashleigh, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Rotherham getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Phillip Clayton hit a great ball. After 30 played minutes, Brimhaven FC's Vinnie Hird shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Derek Rashleigh came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Brimhaven FC reached it. Derek Rashleigh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damien Fish, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Neil Partridge scored 0-1 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Derek Rashleigh, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 38 played minutes Brimhaven FC got a freekick which was hit by Joey Gillespie. In the 39th minute, Spike Caddell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40th minute Phillip Clayton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kenneth E. White saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 42nd minute Damien Fish shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Derek Rashleigh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Derek Rashleigh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daryl Rashleigh in the 43rd minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, Rotherham's goal looked a bit too open when Daryl Rashleigh came free, but Derek Rashleigh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Damien Fish took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Derek Rashleigh to make any attempt to save it. In the 82nd minute Theo Gates shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Derek Rashleigh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 83 minutes into the match, Damien Fish dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Derek Rashleigh, 0-4. Derek Rashleigh made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Daryl Rashleigh sent off a good shot on target. The Rotherham supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Brimhaven FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Brimhaven FC.
