Spectators: 7550 (Terracing: 6000, Seating: 1400, VIP seats: 150) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Carlton Inman took the kick off in the first half of the match. Don Griffiths was a little too slow when Billy Feeney got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 3rd minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 6th minute, Matt Stockdale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Workington's Don Griffiths played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Derek Wood in the 6th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Derek Wood got free with Don Griffiths in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 10 minutes into the match, Billy Feeney dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Don Griffiths, 2-0. Billy Feeney received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Don Griffiths came out and tried to block the shot, but Billy Feeney slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 16th minute. In the 19th match minute, Belfast Rebels FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johnnie Ellerton to maneuver through the defense. 28 minutes into the match, Derek Wood notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Workington's Don Griffiths. Don Griffiths was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 32nd minute of the match, Reuben Auckland got a very nice opportunity to score, but Don Griffiths was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Don Griffiths made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Reuben Auckland sent off a good shot on target. Don Griffiths showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Billy Feeney, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Derek Wood's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Don Griffiths read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, Workington's goal looked a bit too open when Billy Feeney came free, but Don Griffiths reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 6-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Billy Feeney made a kick off. In the 51st match minute, Belfast Rebels FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mark Blake to maneuver through the defense. In the 55th minute, Derek Wood ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Don Griffiths was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. A collision led to Belfast Rebels FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Mark Blake hit a great ball. Don Griffiths showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Billy Feeney in the 66th minute of the match. After 68 minutes of play, Belfast Rebels FC's Reuben Auckland made it 8-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Don Griffiths was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 76th minute, Billy Feeney made a precise shot to the right of Don Griffiths. Workington's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 10-0. 80 minutes into the match, Billy Feeney had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Don Griffiths. Workington's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Billy Feeney was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 11-0. In the 89th minute, Mark Blake got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Don Griffiths showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Billy Feeney, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Don Griffiths showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reuben Auckland in the 91st minute of the match. When the referee ended the match the Belfast Rebels FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
