After the first half Belfast Rebels FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Billy Feeney was the one to do the kick off. Derek Wood who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 52ndth minute tested the skills of Willie Biernat when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Cirencester's Willie Biernat proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Cirencester from getting a goal against them. Ian Hassell 's late challenge caught a Belfast Rebels FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ian Hassell helped the player get up and apologised. Billy Feeney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cirencester's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Belfast Rebels FC the free kick. Willie Biernat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Billy Feeney, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Derek Wood fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willie Biernat having to interfere. When the match was over Belfast Rebels FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Cirencester throughout the match.
