Spectators: 7550 (Terracing: 6000, Seating: 1400, VIP seats: 150) Jim Tipton started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. A collision led to Yapton getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Rich Lambert hit a great ball. In the 14th match minute, Belfast Celtic FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Keith Perkins to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tony Stone in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marc Sawbridge saved Belfast Celtic FC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tony Stone in the 20th minute of play forced Belfast Celtic FC's goalkeeper Marc Sawbridge to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marc Sawbridge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tony Stone in the 23rd minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Geoff McParland notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Belfast Celtic FC's Marc Sawbridge. Marc Sawbridge was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 31 minutes into the game, Tony Stone cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Marc Sawbridge was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Marcus King made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jim Tipton in the 35th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Belfast Celtic FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tony Stone came free, but Marc Sawbridge reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tony Stone stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Tony Stone ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marc Sawbridge was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. After a defensive mix-up in Belfast Celtic FC's zone, Geoff McParland stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marc Sawbridge came out of the goal and Geoff McParland tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Belfast Celtic FC's Marc Sawbridge got control of the ball when Tony Stone tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marcus King showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jim Tipton in the 65th minute of the match. Tony Stone received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Marc Sawbridge tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Miles Mabbutt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 75 minutes into the match, Tony Stone had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marc Sawbridge. Belfast Celtic FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tony Stone was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. 81 minutes into the match, Rich Lambert dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Marc Sawbridge, 1-5. After 84 played minutes Yapton got a freekick which was hit by Geoff McParland. In the 87th minute, Geoff McParland reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Marc Sawbridge. The goal made the score 1-6. If Tony Stone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yapton's Rich Lambert got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
