The supporters of Lincoln AFC booed when Real Madrid was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pierre Milton didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 14th minute, Zak Shea made a precise shot to the right of Jake Campbell. Lincoln AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. With a little luck, Lincoln AFC's Jake Campbell got control of the ball when Zak Shea tried to sneak it across the goal line. Des Buckley could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Jake Campbell made a huge save. Þrúðmar Brynjólfsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Neil Hill in the 24th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Lincoln AFC's zone, Des Buckley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jake Campbell came out of the goal and Des Buckley tried to chip the ball over his head. Real Madrid's John Lincoln got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Johnathon Ellis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jake Campbell came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Real Madrid's Johnathon Ellis. But to his dismay, Johnathon Ellis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zak Shea made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zak Shea in the 53rd minute of play forced Lincoln AFC's goalkeeper Jake Campbell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Þrúðmar Brynjólfsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Neil Hill in the 55th minute of play. Johnathon Ellis might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jake Campbell. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
