Lopez Riopedre was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 17 minutes into the match. The referee ignored Cheadle's protests and gave Witomir Jarocewicz a yellow card for diving instead. After 28 played minutes Cheadle got a freekick which was hit by Witomir Jarocewicz. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Phillip Woodhall prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alan da Fonseca made a kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Rhys Bibby kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving 柯誉海. That made the score 2-2 in the 55 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ergün Senih in the 70th minute of play forced Cheadle's goalkeeper Phillip Woodhall to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
