Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Cashel Willson got the match started through his kick off. After some careless play in the Monroe defense, Tevis McCready kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pat McPhil. The Monroe fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pat McPhil should have stopped the shot. In the 6th minute, Tevis Hunt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 7 played minutes, Monroe's Triain Silke shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gehan McNamara came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Monroe reached it. 10 minutes into the game, Tevis McCready cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Pat McPhil was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gehan McNamara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrick Dimson, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Gehan McNamara stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Patrick Dimson's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. The supporters of Monroe booed when Glengesh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ailín Ramsey didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 24 played minutes Monroe got a freekick which was hit by Cian Mulvihill. Patrick Dimson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Gehan McNamara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 31st minute, Samuel Savic hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Triain Silke kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Alex Tracy was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 35th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Pat McPhil stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Boethis Keegan's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. The supporters of Glengesh booed when Monroe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cian Mulvihill didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Boethis Keegan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Boethis Keegan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 59 minutes had been played when some careless play by Glengesh's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Triain Silke was slow to take the kick. During this time Monroe's players had a chance to rest. Monroe's Triain Silke was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gehan McNamara in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 61st minute, Tevis McCready ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pat McPhil was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Pat McPhil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tevis McCready in the 67th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Patrick Dimson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Monroe's supporters rose to their feet, but Patrick Dimson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gehan McNamara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Cashel Willson came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Monroe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cashel Willson couldn't finish the play. Tevis McCready's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pat McPhil read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. In the 84th minute, Riddock Cronin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Tevis McCready had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Glengesh walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
