With a left leg Rowan Gallagher saved Barnalisheen from getting behind. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ryan Hughes in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bartley Glen Crowe saved Kells from getting behind. Kells's Bartley Glen Crowe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ryan Hughes in the 10th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Damian McTom left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kells fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 19 minutes into the match, Barnalisheen's goal looked a bit too open when Daithi Holt came free, but Rowan Gallagher reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Damian McTom in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rowan Gallagher saved Barnalisheen from getting behind. Barnalisheen's Bhrighde McOliver shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 26th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Bartley Glen Crowe but with some difficulty. Kells's Bartley Glen Crowe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Kells from getting a goal against them. In the 30th minute, Damian McTom got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Daithi Holt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Damian McTom took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rowan Gallagher. Rowan Gallagher dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Barnalisheen's goalkeeper Rowan Gallagher, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Patrick Cassin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 46thth minute tested the skills of Bartley Glen Crowe when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Bairthmead Cassin's late challenge caught a Barnalisheen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bairthmead Cassin helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Kells's Bairthmead Cassin got a free kick in the 47th minute. Rowan Gallagher showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daithi Holt in the 50th minute of the match. After the first half Kells were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When Barnalisheen's Patrick Cassin in 54 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Bartley Glen Crowe guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Bricin McPhilip kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damian McTom in the 66th minute of play forced Barnalisheen's goalkeeper Rowan Gallagher to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Kells's goal looked a bit too open when Patrick Cassin came free, but Bartley Glen Crowe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Barnalisheen's Rowan Gallagher proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Barnalisheen from getting a goal against them. Bairthmead Cassin hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Ryan Hughes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bricin McPhilip during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 82 played minutes Kells got a freekick which was hit by Bricin McPhilip. Ryan Hughes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bartley Glen Crowe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrick Cassin, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Eoghan Tracy's late challenge caught a Kells's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eoghan Tracy helped the player get up and apologised. Daithi Holt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Rowan Gallagher tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Barnalisheen supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Kells's performance. The match ended with a win for Kells.
