The audience was convinced that Damian McTom's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Buach McWill was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. Daithi Holt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Buach McWill was a little too slow when Damian McTom got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 37th minute. The score was now 1-0. The supporters of Ballyfermot booed when Kells was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Breaghdha Moran didn't get a good kick on the ball. 44 minutes into the match, Kells's goal looked a bit too open when Donall Gallagher came free, but Bartley Glen Crowe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Ballyfermot getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Iarla McTom hit a great ball.

The wind increased when Damian McTom made the kick off in the second half. Bricin McPhilip hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Bartley Glen Crowe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gordan Palmer, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. 56 minutes into the game, Kells's Damian McTom nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Buach McWill made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Gordan Palmer received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bartley Glen Crowe came out and tried to block the shot, but Gordan Palmer slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 62nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damian McTom in the 69th minute of play forced Ballyfermot's goalkeeper Buach McWill to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Buach McWill took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daithi Holt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Donall Gallagher could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Bartley Glen Crowe made a huge save. 74 minutes into the match, Kells's goal looked a bit too open when Gordan Palmer came free, but Bartley Glen Crowe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Daithi Holt came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Kells fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daithi Holt couldn't finish the play. In the 82nd minute Damian McTom shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Buach McWill saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A very good chance. 90 minutes into the match, Damian McTom had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Buach McWill. Ballyfermot's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Damian McTom was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Bricin McPhilip kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match.
