The referee gave Gortrelig Utd a penalty, 14 minutes into the game. The excitement rose when Drishane's Bola Jameson after 30 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Gortrelig Utd's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 1-1. After having played for 37 minutes, Ryleigh Dempsey managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Drishane's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ryleigh Dempsey was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bola Jameson came free in the 42nd minute and tried to tip the ball over Bevan Gollogley , but to the joy of Gortrelig Utd's supporters the ball went over. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Breadan Duggan was the one to do the kick off. Breadan Duggan didn't quite understand what happened when in the 53 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. In the 83rd minute, Keeghan McJohnny got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baodan McGlenn in the 85th minute of play forced Drishane's goalkeeper Bradaigh McBrandon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 89th match minute, Gortrelig Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Keeghan McJohnny to maneuver through the defense.
