Saoirse McPhilip showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flannery Johnson, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. After 17 played minutes Killinkere Utd got a freekick which was hit by Suibhne Walker. Kain Gough's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Devlin Dillon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. After having played for 23 minutes, Breslin Mullan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caherbarnagh's supporters crossed their fingers, but Breslin Mullan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 25 minutes into the game, Ros McSteven threw the ball into play from the sideline. Caherbarnagh's Teagan Ramsey quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After a rather tough play, Caherbarnagh's Donavin Caffrey got a free kick in the 26th minute. Saoirse McPhilip made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Suibhne Walker in the 30th minute of play. After 31 played minutes Caherbarnagh got a freekick which was hit by Donavin Caffrey. 35 minutes into the match, Killinkere Utd's goalkeeper Devlin Dillon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kain Gough. Devlin Dillon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Breslin Mullan's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. Kain Gough recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Devlin Dillon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Breslin Mullan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After 58 minutes of play, Caherbarnagh's Breslin Mullan made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Devlin Dillon was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Killinkere Utd booed when Caherbarnagh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Binnech McDonald didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kain Gough struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Devlin Dillon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caherbarnagh. Dugan Hunt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Devlin Dillon having to interfere. 74 minutes into the match, Killinkere Utd's Beara Ferguson broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Kain Gough received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Devlin Dillon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Devlin Dillon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Breslin Mullan in the 80th minute of play. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Killinkere Utd's goalkeeper Devlin Dillon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Breslin Mullan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Devlin Dillon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Breslin Mullan's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Caherbarnagh had played much better football throughout.
