Baine Ramsey was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 18 minutes into the match, Killinkere Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Beglan Tracy came free, but Devlin Dillon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Derryheena's Beglan Tracy got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Baine Ramsey made an important save on a dangerous shot by Flannery Johnson in the 21st minute. Devlin Dillon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Boethis Cooney, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. A collision led to Killinkere Utd getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Fiachra McVictor hit a great ball. Boethis Cooney fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Devlin Dillon having to interfere. When Corey McJohn fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Killinkere Utd's protests and gave Corey McJohn a yellow card for diving instead. Corey McJohn hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 40th minute Boethis Cooney shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Devlin Dillon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Boethis Cooney had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Suibhne Walker was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Aengus Scully managed to get in a good position for a shot. Derryheena's supporters rose to their feet, but Aengus Scully was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Devlin Dillon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 57 minutes into the match, Derryheena's goal looked a bit too open when Suibhne Walker came free, but Baine Ramsey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Suibhne Walker might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Baine Ramsey. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Suibhne Walker ran back to his position shaking his head. 64 minutes into the game, Timothy Hamilton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Derryheena's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Killinkere Utd the free kick. A collision led to Derryheena getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Timothy Hamilton hit a great ball. Beglan Tracy blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Devlin Dillon having to make a save. Baine Ramsey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flannery Johnson, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Derrick McSteven charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Derrick McSteven the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 75th match minute, Killinkere Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Derrick McSteven to maneuver through the defense. Devlin Dillon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Boethis Cooney in the 84th minute of play. In the 87thth minute of the game Boethis Cooney who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Killinkere Utd's Devlin Dillon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Devlin Dillon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Beglan Tracy in the 89th minute. Beglan Tracy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
