The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Drumfergus's Brannon Ferguson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dillon McTommy in the 23rd minute of play. If Davie Gillmour had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Davie Gillmour sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Blanaid Palmer struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Colm Doherty didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Drumfergus. After a rather tough play, Breenagh Utd's Beagan McDecland got a free kick in the 35th minute. Blanaid Palmer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Colm Doherty having to interfere. Flann Delaney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dillon McTommy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Brannon Ferguson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Drumfergus players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Breenagh Utd were winning 0-1.

The supporters of Drumfergus booed when Breenagh Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boyle Benson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Drumfergus's Bret Moran got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Boyle Benson was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 93 minutes had been played. The supporters of Drumfergus booed when Breenagh Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boyle Benson didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Breenagh Utd players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
