Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Blanaid Palmer started the match with the kick off. 8 minutes into the match, Balladian Utd's Kain McLiam sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Brannon Ferguson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Kain McLiam's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brannon Ferguson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. After 12 minutes, Flann Delaney mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Drumfergus and the Balladian Utd players grew even worse after the yellow card. Paul McPeter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Brannon Ferguson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 17 minutes into the match, Timmons Hunt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Brannon Ferguson. Drumfergus's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Timmons Hunt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 20 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Drumfergus! The referee gave Balladian Utd a penalty, 21 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Kain McLiam, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Drumfergus's Brannon Ferguson. 0-2. After 24 minutes, Barley Branson made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Drumfergus's Brannon Ferguson tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Brannon Ferguson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paul McPeter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Drumfergus's zone, Timmons Hunt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brannon Ferguson came out of the goal and Timmons Hunt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brannon Ferguson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Timmons Hunt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 34 minutes, Paul McPeter managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Balladian Utd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paul McPeter was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Balladian Utd's zone, Bret Moran stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Donavan McIan came out of the goal and Bret Moran tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kain McLiam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brannon Ferguson having to interfere. In the 38th minute Kain McLiam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brannon Ferguson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 41 minutes into the match, Drumfergus's goal looked a bit too open when Timmons Hunt came free, but Brannon Ferguson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Timmons Hunt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kain McLiam stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Paul McPeter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brannon Ferguson having to interfere. Brannon Ferguson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paul McPeter in the 54th minute. Brannon Ferguson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kain McLiam in the 56th minute of the match. If Bret Moran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 60 minutes into the match, Barley Branson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Brannon Ferguson. Drumfergus's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Barley Branson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. Brannon Ferguson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Barley Branson in the 65th minute. When %teams%'s Kain McLiam was free in front of goal, he didn't hesitate to shoot 0-6 just inside the left pole, 67 minutes into the game. Brannon Ferguson was annoyed at himself for letting in the shot. After 70 played minutes Drumfergus got a freekick which was hit by Blanaid Palmer. In the 73rd minute of the match Balladian Utd got a corner. Drumfergus's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Kain McLiam ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Balladian Utd's Ferdia McBrand to fire away a dangerous shot which Brannon Ferguson despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 75th minute, Timmons Hunt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Brannon Ferguson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kain McLiam in the 77th minute of play. Barley Branson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. When Kain McLiam came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Balladian Utd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kain McLiam couldn't finish the play. Brannon Ferguson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paul McPeter in the 85th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kain McLiam in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brannon Ferguson saved Drumfergus from getting behind. Blanaid Palmer kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. In the 88th minute, Paul McPeter got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 92 minutes into the game, Paul McPeter recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Brannon Ferguson. Paul McPeter showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-7.
