Dewain McJohnny fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bressail McDonald having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Corlisheen's zone, Bow McJon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bressail McDonald came out of the goal and Bow McJon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Berke Hughes in the 17th minute of play forced Corlisheen's goalkeeper Bressail McDonald to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tate McOliver received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Brendann Cronin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Beatty McBrand kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. 21 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Corlisheen's Kaine Kelly fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. A collision led to Cum getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Bow McJon hit a great ball. The supporters of Corlisheen booed when Cum was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Banbhan McLiam didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bressail McDonald made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Dewain McJohnny sent off a good shot on target. If Dewain McJohnny had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Berke Hughes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bressail McDonald was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Corlisheen's Bressail McDonald played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Berke Hughes in the 37th minute of play. Brendann Cronin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tate McOliver in the 44th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bellaghy McAaron during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Corlisheen booed when Cum was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bellaghy McAaron didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brendann Cronin came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Corlisheen's Kaine Kelly. But to his dismay, Kaine Kelly quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After the first half Corlisheen were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Berke Hughes to strike the kick off in the second half. Brendann Cronin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kaine Kelly in the 84th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Tate McOliver managed to get in a good position for a shot. Corlisheen's supporters rose to their feet, but Tate McOliver was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brendann Cronin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
