The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Beag Dimson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pearce McTom in the 2nd minute of the match. In the 7th minute, Pearce McTom got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bradley Savic received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Kevis Caffey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carnmalin Utd's Kevis Caffey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Torey Scully in the 16th minute of play. Pearce McTom struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Beag Dimson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carnmalin Utd. When Lorcan Rogers fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ballyorney's protests and gave Lorcan Rogers a yellow card for diving instead. Lorcan Rogers hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Torrey Scully kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. After 28 played minutes Ballyorney got a freekick which was hit by Breslin McBrand. In the 32nd match minute, Carnmalin Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patton Glen Crowe to maneuver through the defense. Kevis Caffey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Torey Scully in the 33rd minute of play. Ballyorney's Beag Dimson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pearce McTom in the 38th minute of play. 41 minutes into the game, Torey Scully recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Kevis Caffey. Torey Scully showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Herich McTommy made a kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Leonard McJames was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carnmalin Utd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ballyorney the free kick. The supporters of Ballyorney booed when Carnmalin Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonard McJames didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ballyorney's Bradley Savic got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 66th minute, Torey Scully made a precise shot to the right of Kevis Caffey. Carnmalin Utd's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Herich McTommy took the ball and in the 74 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Beag Dimson. Beag Dimson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Herich McTommy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beag Dimson having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Ballyorney's zone, Pearce McTom stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Beag Dimson came out of the goal and Pearce McTom tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 87 minutes into the match, Carnmalin Utd's Herich McTommy sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Beag Dimson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Pearce McTom received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Beag Dimson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Carnmalin Utd walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
