The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 5 minutes into the match, Redford AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Shey McFrancise came free, but Tory McDonald reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bivitas Frankson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 7th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tory McDonald. Redford AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Tory McDonald took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bantry Gillmour, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tory McDonald made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pearce Horgan in the 16th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Annesbrook's Pearce Horgan got a free kick in the 17th minute. Barran Morrison's late challenge caught a Annesbrook's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Barran Morrison helped the player get up and apologised. In the 19th match minute, Redford AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barran Morrison to maneuver through the defense. 20 minutes into the match, Redford AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Pearce Horgan came free, but Tory McDonald reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Shey McFrancise received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Tory McDonald tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 35 minutes, Pearce Horgan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Annesbrook's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pearce Horgan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Coran Mulvihill made an important save on a dangerous shot by Caoilte Beckett in the 37th minute. Tory McDonald took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pearce Horgan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th match minute, Redford AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Berkeley Murphy to maneuver through the defense. 45 minutes into the match, Redford AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Alexander Cassin came free, but Tory McDonald reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Redford AFC's Tory McDonald played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Shey McFrancise in the 48th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pearce Horgan made a kick off. The supporters of Annesbrook booed when Redford AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caoilte Beckett didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 55th match minute, Annesbrook was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pearce Horgan to maneuver through the defense. Tory McDonald made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Shey McFrancise sent off a good shot on target. Redford AFC's Tory McDonald proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Redford AFC from getting a goal against them. When Barran Morrison came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Redford AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Barran Morrison couldn't finish the play. Shey McFrancise received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Tory McDonald tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pearce Horgan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tory McDonald having to interfere.
