In the 17th minute Breccan McTom shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bard Mullan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, Faughary AFC's Breccan McTom sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bard Mullan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 19th minute, Logan Caffrey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Breccan McTom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Faughary AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gattabaun the free kick. A collision led to Faughary AFC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Beacan Gough hit a great ball. The referee gave Gattabaun a penalty, 40 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Artuir Morrison, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Faughary AFC's Arnold Deery. 0-1. Bard Mullan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Breccan McTom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th match minute, Faughary AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Braden MaCollin to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Donan McTom managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gattabaun's supporters rose to their feet, but Donan McTom was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arnold Deery breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Donan McTom received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Arnold Deery tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Burke McCready during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 52nd minute, Burke McCready hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 54 minutes into the match, Gattabaun's goal looked a bit too open when Breccan McTom came free, but Bard Mullan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gattabaun's Donan McTom got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Beacan Gough kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. With a little luck, Faughary AFC's Arnold Deery got control of the ball when Donan McTom tried to sneak it across the goal line. 64 minutes into the game, Caroll McOliver was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gattabaun's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Faughary AFC the free kick. In the 64th match minute, Gattabaun was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caroll McOliver to maneuver through the defense. Dennis McWill's late challenge caught a Faughary AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dennis McWill helped the player get up and apologised. After 69 played minutes Gattabaun got a freekick which was hit by Dennis McWill. The audience thought a goal was coming when Donan McTom got free with Arnold Deery in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bard Mullan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Breccan McTom in the 89th minute of the match. Faughary AFC's Breccan McTom got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Egan McStephen took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bard Mullan. Bard Mullan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. If Donan McTom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Faughary AFC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Gattabaun for a fine match.
