Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Barde Hamilton took the kick off in the first half of the match. Conan Dunne took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 5th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Philip Ferguson. Cloonascragh AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Kitchenstown FC's David Kelly got a free kick in the 9th minute. 13 minutes into the match, Kitchenstown FC's goalkeeper Beary McBjarton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by John Dimson. Beary McBjarton was out of position in the 19 minute of play, and Boylan Silke capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Boylan Silke really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. 28 minutes into the match, Cloonascragh AFC's John Dimson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Beary McBjarton narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Kitchenstown FC's Conan Dunne got a free kick in the 29th minute. Boylan Silke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Damian Lavine managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kitchenstown FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Damian Lavine was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Philip Ferguson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when John Dimson got free with Beary McBjarton in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Barde Hamilton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Boylan Silke made the kick off in the second half. Gilbert Coyle hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Beary McBjarton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Boylan Silke, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 55th minute, Brion McMichel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Barde Hamilton in the 63rd minute of play forced Cloonascragh AFC's goalkeeper Philip Ferguson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Conan Dunne fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kitchenstown FC's protests and gave Conan Dunne a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Kitchenstown FC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Conan Dunne hit a great ball. Beglan Deans was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 67th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The supporters of Kitchenstown FC booed when Cloonascragh AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brendon Byrne didn't get a good kick on the ball. 72 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cloonascragh AFC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Begley McJames was slow to take the kick. During this time Kitchenstown FC's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Pat McMichel heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After some careless play in the Cloonascragh AFC defense, Damian Lavine kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Philip Ferguson. The Cloonascragh AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Philip Ferguson should have stopped the shot. After 77 minutes of play Kitchenstown FC's Conan Dunne was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 78th minute, Conan Dunne hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Boylan Silke struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Beary McBjarton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cloonascragh AFC. Beary McBjarton came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Cloonascragh AFC's John Dimson. But to his dismay, John Dimson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. After a rather tough play, Cloonascragh AFC's Beglan Deans got a free kick in the 89th minute. If John Dimson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Beary McBjarton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Boylan Silke in the 94th minute of the match. Cloonascragh AFC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
