Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Boylan Silke started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Cloonascragh AFC booed when Clonee Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darby Barrett didn't get a good kick on the ball. Flann McGlynn made an important save on a dangerous shot by John Dimson in the 4th minute. Clonee Utd's Flann McGlynn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boylan Silke in the 11th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Cloonascragh AFC's Brendon Byrne got a free kick in the 13th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Clonee Utd's zone, John Dimson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Flann McGlynn came out of the goal and John Dimson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Boylan Silke managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cloonascragh AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Boylan Silke was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Flann McGlynn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Breenan McNamara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cloonascragh AFC's Philip Ferguson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Duff Tierney in the 37th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Breenan McNamara in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Philip Ferguson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 43rd match minute, Cloonascragh AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brendon Byrne to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Clonee Utd's Bat McJon tried to score from far away in the 44th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Duff Tierney stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, John Dimson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cloonascragh AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but John Dimson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Flann McGlynn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 60th match minute, Cloonascragh AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tipraite McBrandon to maneuver through the defense. Boylan Silke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Flann McGlynn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 76 minutes into the game, Boylan Silke cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Flann McGlynn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Breenan McNamara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 85th minute, Duff Tierney got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. John Dimson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Breenan McNamara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cloonascragh AFC's Brendon Byrne got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
