Spectators: 6770 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1770, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Breccan McTom made the kick off which started today's match. Arnold Deery showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duff Tierney in the 3rd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Braeden Willson during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 6 played minutes Clonee Utd got a freekick which was hit by Braeden Willson. Egan McStephen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Breccan McTom received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Flann McGlynn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Clonee Utd's Braeden Willson got his second yellow card of the match in the 12th minute. The referee ordered Braeden Willson off the ground. A collision led to Clonee Utd getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Braeden Willson hit a great ball. Egan McStephen scored 0-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Flann McGlynn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 17th minute Egan McStephen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flann McGlynn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Breenan McNamara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Arnold Deery made a huge save. 24 minutes into the match, Clonee Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Breccan McTom came free, but Flann McGlynn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Flann McGlynn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Egan McStephen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Breenan McNamara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Arnold Deery made a huge save. 32 minutes into the game, Egan McStephen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Flann McGlynn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 39 minutes into the match, Faughary AFC's Breccan McTom sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Flann McGlynn narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 41st minute, Breccan McTom got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 44 minutes into the game, Egan McStephen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Flann McGlynn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 47th minute, Brendon Deans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Faughary AFC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After a defensive mix-up in Faughary AFC's zone, Brazil Doherty stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnold Deery came out of the goal and Brazil Doherty tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Egan McStephen's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 64thth minute, Flann McGlynn skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Breccan McTom received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Flann McGlynn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Breccan McTom was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 67th minute. Faughary AFC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Egan McStephen scored 0-4 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Flann McGlynn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Flann McGlynn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Breccan McTom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Clonee Utd's Flann McGlynn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Clonee Utd from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Duff Tierney managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clonee Utd's supporters rose to their feet, but Duff Tierney was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arnold Deery breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Clonee Utd's Flann McGlynn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Breccan McTom in the 87th minute of play. Egan McStephen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. David Brennan hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Egan McStephens short, quick shot in the 96thth minute got Flann McGlynn to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 96 minutes into the game, David Brennan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Clonee Utd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Faughary AFC the free kick. In the 97th match minute, Clonee Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Brennan to maneuver through the defense. If Breccan McTom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Faughary AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Faughary AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
